musician // Vince Vaccaro

Hey everyone, here’s a quick blog post I did on a shoot last night with Vince. He’s a talented musician with a real west coast vibe who seems to get better each year. His newest song “Catch a Fire” is pretty rad and is one of my top played songs right now. Here is the video for you to check out.

Vince Vaccaro – Catch A Fire – Peak Performance Project 2010 from Vince Vaccaro on Vimeo.

Last night we met up as his place just down the road from me and we stuck close to home. Just up the road we found a little bit of west coast greenery and an empty parking lot to get a few photos. Vince is competing in the Peak Performance project which is a huge development organization that helps launch BC musicians and he is actually competing in the Top 20 right now. He asked me to go out and take some photos that can be used for part of the marketing section of the project that he must complete. All of the contenders compete in more than just performing, with the development of them as an artist in all facets from performing, social networking, and building themselves as a brand. It actually is quite similar to the life of a photographer as taking photos is really a fraction of the skills necessary to become successful.

I thought I’d share a few from our 1 hour session, pretty much just on the side of the road.

Great shots Shane, loving the lighting and small orange dots in the background on the last one.

thanks aaron. It was pretty fun having such a low pressure kind of shoot and being able to play around a bit. Thanks for the compliments!
